AC Milan-Genoa: tops and flops of the first half

  • Lorenzo Bettoni
AC Milan and Genoa are in the San Siro dressing rooms after the opening 45 minutes of play. The rossoneri are reduced to ten men after the straight red card picked up by Leonardo Bonucci in the 25th minute.

The Italian will skip the next two games against Chievo and Inter.

These are the tops and flops of the game after the first half.

TOPS
Borini (AC Milan) –
Massive display of the right winger so far. He runs up and down creating goal chances without missing out on defensive duties. Laxalt tries to create troubles but Borini is always behind him. Committed.

Miguel Veloso (Genoa) – Smart performance so far. Genoa need quantity and quality and the Portuguese is providing them both.

FLOP

Leonardo Bonucci (AC Milan) –
Gets a straight red card after just 25 minutes. He leaves his teammates with ten men for 65 minutes and is now set to skip the next two games, including the one against Juve. Terrible, terrible start to the season.

Suso (AC Milan) - Struggles to create goal chances. He should be playing as attacking winger but Montella's new system does not have any space for an attacking wide player. Does not have enough space when he plays in the middle of the park.
