AC Milan retire from race to sign former Liverpool target

CalcioMercato can reveal that AC Milan have bowed out of the race to sign forward Keita Balde from Lazio – a former target of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The Milan club held a press conference today, where their director of sport Massimo Mirebelli said: Keita? He is one of the players we followed, but when we realized that he was managed in some way, we dropped our pursuit and so he no longer comes into our plans for the future. "
The 22-year-old’s contract will expire next year, meaning that Lazio will have to sell the player on, with Serie A rivals Juventus interested in the player’s services. Also, too, is Premier League side Liverpool, who did make a £30m bid for him. But the bid was rejected, and, following their interest of Naby Kieta from the Bundesliga, it looks like the Merseyside club will withdraw from their target for the time being.
