AC Milan keep on tracking Lazio’s Antonio Candreva: the rossoneri are seeking an external midfielder for Mihajlovic’s 4-4-2, and the 28-year-old is a concrete option, while, on the contrary, it seems more difficult that Milan will sign Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez and Genoa’s Diego Perotti, who is about to join AS Roma.
Signing Candreva won’t be in any case easy: the biancocelesti require at least €20 million to let him go, and, most of all, they will have to face the competition of city rivals Inter. According to calciomercato.com, in the last days Milan and Lazio’s executives have met, and they have also talked about Candreva himself.
The rossoneri have told Lazio that they are ready to offer them three players: Alessandro Matri, Stephan El Shaarawy and Cristian Zapata. There have been already many rumors regarding the first two, while the one of the Colombian is the new name. The biancocelesti are seeking two defenders, a substitute for de Vrij and a low-cost solution, like Zapata indeed.
Lazio have evaluated the offer, and they are quite doubtful about all these players. Matri (already playing for Lazio on loan –t/n) is admired by the executive staff, but could be signed to a permanent deal only if the team’s boss Stefano Pioli would leave; El Shaarawy could be the key of the negotiation, but it would be difficult to find an agreement regarding the modality of the transfer; finally, Zapata’s contract will expire at the end of the current season, and he earns €1,6 million per year, so that Lazio would have to pay him a 800.000 euros salary, too much for their project.
