Agresti: what about De Rossi's racist offense?

We go from an extreme to another: after insulting Mancini, Sarri seemed like a terrorist, while two days later he was a hero, a victim. Prude or heartless, we don’t know a middle way. In the last hours, the second option is becoming more popular: certain things must remain on the pitch.
This is not the way it should work. In the lower divisions, where you buy your own shoes and you wash your jerseys, you find the arrogant, the ignorant, the racist; you can try to stop them, but you can’t expect the referee –often alone, in the middle of a mad crowd- to see and listen everything. In any case, the lower division’s ignorant is not an example for anybody. On the other hand, the Serie A is a very different world: there is money, honor and responsibility. The whole World is watching you, especially the Youngers. And you are responsible toward them, so that certain things can’t remain on the pitch: who makes a mistake, should pay for it.
After Sarri, De Rossi: “fu**ing gipsy”, he told Mandzukic. No, you can’t do it. And, please, let’s not use certain excuses like “Mandzukic is not a gipsy, so there is no racism”. Racism is inside those words. Moreover, Spalletti’s reaction was awful: “Mandzukic has made fun of us for ten minutes”; so?! That means that you can call him a fu**ing gipsy? “We’ll tell Daniele to put a hand on his mouth,” he added…. I thought that they should teach him to act in a better way…
There is just a way: some suspensions. But you’ll see, it won’t happen. They’ll remain free to offend, eventually with a hand on their mouth.
If you think that this article is too prude, no problem: we think that we mist denounce what’s happening in our football. Maybe somebody will realize it, and will try to do something about.
