Atletico Madrid boss Simeone plays down exit rumours
Simeone has been linked with a return to his old club Inter and with a number of Premier League clubs. El Cholo has managed to bring his Atletico Madrid side among Europe’s elite, helping the Colchoneros to win one LaLiga title in the 2013-14 campaign and reaching the Champions League finals twice: in 2014 and 2016.
Ahead of the incoming LaLiga clash against Malaga, however, Simeone has played down rumours suggesting that he’ll be leaving the Estadio Calderon at the end of the season.
“Talking about a future in the English Premier League or about what’s going to happen in the future is simply nonsense as I am only focused on Malata at the moment.”
Simeone’s Atletico Madrid contract runs until 2018. The Argentinean tactician has won 173 of the 273 games in charge of the Spanish club with 54 draws and 46 defeats.
