Barca defender agrees to join Roma

Roma have reportedly earned Aleix Vidal’s approval to join them.

The Serie A side were linked in the last few days to the Barcelona outcast, who has really struggled to impose himself at the Camp Nou despite warranting over €15 million’s worth of transfer fees in 2015.

Having been a star at Sevilla, however, he has morphed into a flop at Barca, only totalling 14 Liga starts, three this season.

Alos linked to Inter and AC Milan last summer, the Spaniard has, according to Mediaset Sport, agreed to join Roma.

With the Giallorossi losing the likes of Bruno Peres and Karsdorp to injury, they need more options there, and Vidal could be one.

Barca have actively been looking for right-backs, and see Sergi Roberto as a more feasible option anyway.

Roma DS Monchi signed Vidal back in his Sevilla days, and got a strong 31-game season from the 27-year-old in 2014-2015.

Roma would ideally get the Spaniard on loan in January, with a view to signing him in the summer.
