Barcelona compete with Inter, OM for Chelsea reject Ivanovic

It looks like Marseille have themselves some competition for Chelsea full-back Branislav Ivanovic.

El Mundo Deportivo (via Fichajes) claim that Barcelona have joined the race for the left-back, who has falled out of favour at Stamford Bridge since Coach Antonio Conte instituted his now-famous 3-5-2, which has Victor Moses playing on the right.

Ironically, the 32-year-old has been in Marseille’s sights since former Barça man Andoni Zubizarreta joined as the Ligue 1 side’s director of sport.

Barcelona are looking to replace Aleix Vidal, who has barely played at the Nou Camp, recently offering his services to former club Sevilla.

Having started 30+ games in five separate Premier League seasons at Stamford Bridge, Ivanovic has now started only six (about half) of the available fixtures so far.

Though Juventus don’t seem interested in the Serb anymore, Inter have sent feelers recently, their own right-back situation hardly a rosy one despite the arrival of Christian Ansaldi.
