Barcelona: Deulofeu regrets AC Milan exit

Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu is back in Italy to take on Serie A champions Juventus in the Champions League this midweek, and stopped to discuss his time at AC Milan with ExtraTime:

“Milan? It was a very positive experience for me, I was happy there. Everyone welcomed me exceptionally well – coach, staff, teammates – as I needed the warmth of the people. I played a lot of matches and I was happy, they were a wonderful few months. There were times in the past when I did not enjoy playing, but I started to rediscover my love for football in Milan. I felt good both on and off the pitch. I must take advantage of the opportunity I have at Barcelona.

“Differences between Serie A and La Liga? La Liga is another story, there are players of a much higher level. However, in Italy they compensate for this with organisation and the defences are more difficult to break down. Clubs like Juventus, Napoli, Roma and AC Milan possess so much talent, but you cannot compare them to Barcelona or Real Madrid. In the last few years, La Liga has dominated European football.
