Barcelona January transfer strategies revealed

Barcelona are keen to sign a few reinforcements in the January transfer window with Coutinho who is still believed to be on top of the blaugrana summer shopping list. Marca reports the details of the blaugrana summer transfer strategies for the winter transfer window and the Brazilian features in the shopping list of the La Liga giants.

The Spanish paper, however, claims that Barcelona will find it hard to sign Coutinho in the winter transfer window although Mundo Deportivo reported a few days ago that Barcelona would have signed ‘Cou’ for the right offer.

Generally, Barcelona need to sell before they buy. The likes of Arda Turan and Thomas Vermaelen are being linked with leaving the club in the winter transfer window. The Turkey International has an offer from Galatasaray but he refused to rescind his contract with Barcelona as the Turkish side do not want to send any money to sign him. Vermaelen doesn’t want to leave and his future is being considered by the technical staff.

As for new signings, the likes of Jean-Michel Seri (Nice), Yerry Mina (Palmeiras) and Leon Goretzka are possible reinforcements for the blaungrana midfield and attacking department. Mina can join the Camp Nou for a fee close to € 9 million, Goretzka is available on the market as a free agent from June but Barcelona could make a bid to sign him in the winter and beat competition of Bayern Munich who are now in pole position to sign the talented Germany International.
