Arsenal in for Barcelona utility player

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is considering a move to Arsenal after an offer was made by Arsene Wenger’s side. ESPN Brazil, via The Metro, are suggesting that the 24-year-old has grown despondent with his time at the Nou Camp, and is now looking for a way out, with the Gunners having already laid an offer out on the table to bring in the Brazilian.

Barca have set an amount of €30 million (£26.4m) for the players services, but with Arsenal having hold of one their key targets, Hector Bellerin, the north-London club have a degree of leverage, leaving the La Liga giants more open to offers for their man.

Rafinha only appeared 16 times in all competitions last season and will likely miss out on the opening few games of the 2017/18 season with an injured knee.

Wenger is keen on the player who can offer utility, being able to play both as a right-back and in a central midfield role.
