Barzagli says Juve ‘must do more’ ahead of Barcelona clash

Andrea Barzagli discussed several issues with Sky Sport reporter Paolo Aghemo in the build-up to Juventus’ forthcoming match against Barcelona this mid-week:

“Tavecchio’s resignation? Years of planning and new programmes are needed. It is unthinkable that Italy can go from here to winning the Euros in just two years. A long-term plan is required, while those who join the federation must be given the freedom to implement new ideas without any of the usual constraints.

“The presence of former footballers in the FIGC doesn’t matter too much – the names are not important, but what matters is that people must have the right skills and expertise to carry out reforms.

“We must start from the youth sectors, and make sure children are being taught from an early age. It will take some time to achieve what has been done in Belgium and Germany.”

“Barcelona? It will be a crucial match, as we must find the spirit of sacrifice. Juve must understand that you need to suffer in order to earn the right to win. I agree with Chiellini in the sense that we have lacked the will to suffer together. We must all give something more.”
