Bayern unlikely to reel in Arsenal star, turn attention to Atletico's Belgian attacker

Bayern Munich have been trying to lure Alexis Sanchez the Bundesliga. Arsenal's Chilean exile endured a long difficult season with the English club, and many months of the season found himself the root of transfer speculation and lack of contentment at the club. A deal was rumored to have been close between the Gunners and Bayern, but the deal went sour after Manchester City entered the deal with the player. The Bavarian club then moved to Ferreira Carrasco, the Belgian talent at Atletico Madrid.

Carrasco fits many of the same roles as Alexis Sanchez, but perhaps gives Bayern an easier pathway. The Chilean was always going to require an enormous lump sum, his rise to stardom on both the club and international level has shown the world his value. Atletico’s Belgian winger on the other hand, is just now becoming a household name across Europe. His skill and vision have been an excellent contributor for Simeone’s team over the past two seasons. Carrasco has scored 10 goals and added 4 assists in 35 games for Atletico this past term. Especially if they are willing to let Douglas Costa walk through the exit door, Bayern will be planning for the future, and Carrasco fits their mold perfectly.
