Berardi difficult to adapt to 3-5-2 system says Ventura

New Italy national team coach Giampiero Ventura talked to media ahead of Italy’s friendly game against France and World Cup qualifier against Israel.

“I have three days to work, there’s not too much time. I’ve kept a big part of the group which took part to EURO 2016. There are some particular situations like those of Zaza and Sirigu. There are not too many youths because the U-21 side play a crucial game on the 2nd of September.”

“I’ve always been a coach, I am looking forward to returning to the pitch, I’ve never been out of the pitch for so long.”

“It will be difficult for attacking wingers like Berardi or El Shaarawy to adapt to 3-5-2 system. I’d like to talk to them to build new tactical ideas and build a solid base for the World Cup.”

“There are some interesting prospects, but someone is still not ready to wear this shirt, that’s why I’d like to do some trials and stages, everyone must feet at home here. All clubs are excited by this idea.”

“Bonucci had a two-day permit, everyone knows why. Let’s hope everything will go the right way.”

“I want to continue Conte’s job, that’s an extremely stimulating task.”

“We have to analyze which position is the best for Verratti to play in, talking to him was pleasant surprise.”

“Belotti deserves to be here, I know him and he’s doing very well like all the other youths like Donnarumma, Rugani and Bernardeschi. I am trying him out in a different position than the one where he used to play under Conte.”
