Breaking: Chelsea and Inter set for transfer blow as Roma star agrees terms with Zenit

Chelsea could face a huge transfer blow as one of their main summer targets, Kostas Manolas, is reported to have reached an agreement with Zenit St. Petersburg.
Today’s reports from Italy claimed the Greece International is available for € 30 million and that Zenit boss Roberto Mancini has offered the player a € 3.5 million-a-year salary.

According to Sky Sport (via passion Inter) Manolas has agreed personal terms with the Russian club and Roma are now waiting for Zenit’s opening bid which is expected to be in between € 30 and € 35 million. Roma’s DS Monchi is currently having a meeting with representatives of Zenit in Monaco trying to reach an agreement for the talented centre-back.

Chelsea are long time admirers of the 25-year-old who is being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since last summer. The Blues are still interested but have failed to open transfer talks with the giallorossi so far.

Inter had also been linked with signing the Greek star but they are also expected to miss out on his signing. The sale of Manolas would also prevent both Chelsea and Inter from signing Antonio Rudiger who will remain at Roma if his teammate departs.
