Capello: 'Unlike Inter, my Milan played"

Fabio Capello has taken a little swipe at current Scudetto contenders Inter Milan.

Famous for having coached pretty much every major Serie A team except the Nerazzurri, Fabio Capello's Milan team of 1993/1994 has one major thing in common with Roberto Mancini's side: both sides began the season with seven 1-0 wins in twelve games.

However, the former Milan, Juventus and Roma manager refused to acknowledge that the two teams have much in common.

"It feels unfair to compare these two teams, Inter are still maturing. And anyway, we played back then..."

"That year, Milan were coming off three consecutive seasons in the Champions League. And let's not forget that we'd been without Marco Van Basten for a fair amount of time. Back then Milan had great strength in defense, a concept born under Nils Liedholm and improved by Arrigo Sacchi".

Is it truly fair to compare Baresi, Maldini, Desailly, Donadoni, Savicevic, Boban and Massaro to Inter's current talented, but inferior charges? Let us know!
