Cellino to sell Leeds United and purchase stake in Brescia

As we previously stated on Calciomercato.com, Massimo Cellino is looking to sell Leeds United to another Italian, Andrea Radrizzani, President of the MP & Silva media empire. What has now emerged is that the 60-year-old patron wants to return to Italy to become a share-holder at Serie B side Brescia.

The club are owned by Marco Bonometti and UBI Bank, who are a principal sponsor of the club and major creditor to the team from Lombardy. Cellino’s interest to become part of the the club will heighten the speculation that his departure from the Championship side is now imminent.

Cellino, through his family trust, Eleonora Sport Ltd, took over Leeds United in February 2014 and his two-year stay at the West Yorkshire club has not been without its controversies. After a string of incidents involving the former Cagliari patron, it emerged last month that he is finally ready to relinquish his control on the club and that he had found a new buyer in the shape of Radrizzani.
