Chelsea looking to land cut-price Spanish striker

Chelsea are understood to be interested in bringing Spanish striker Fernando Llorente to Stamford Bridge this summer. The 32-year-old, who was the subject of two offers from the Premier League champions in January, has remained on Antonio Conte’s wish-list.

The two men were together at Juventus and the Italian tactician holds the player in high esteem. Llorente’s current club Swansea City, refused to enter into negotiations at the start of the year as they were involved in a relegation scrap but now the situation looks to be different.

According to The Daily Star, Chelsea are ready to pay around £15M for the player who finished as the Welsh club’s top goalscorer last season knocking in 15 goals in 33 appearances. Conte wants back-up as he looks to fight on two fronts next season both domestically and in Europe where the Blues are back in the Champions League after a season’s absence.
