Chelsea resume interest in Inter star with refreshed €23m bid

Chelsea have resumed their interest in Inter star Antonio Candreva, a long time target of Antonio Conte. According to a report of The Sun, the Premier League champions have made an opening €23 million bid to sign the Italy International who shined for the azzurri in last year’s Euro 2016 campaign under Antonio Conte.

Federico Pastorello is the agent of both Conte and Candreva and he revealed a few months ago that Chelsea were interested in signing Candreva in January.

“This past January, Chelsea wanted to sign Antonio Candreva. They needed a replacement for Oscar and Antonio would have been a good one. However, he had just joined Inter and [Inter owners] Suning do not want to sell their best players. I don’t know if he’ll stay at Inter, I’ll talk to [Inter Directors] Ausilio and Sabatini”, Pastorello told Rai Sport in June.

Inter, however, do not seem open to sell the Italian given that they are already in talks with Manchester United over the € 55 million move of Ivan Perisic.
