Confirmed: Bayern Munich retire from race to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez

Bayern Munch president Uli Hoeness has confirmed that the Germans are not willing to spend crazy money to sign Marco Verratti and Alexis Sanchez. The duo are being linked with a move to the Allianz Arena of late but the Bundesliga giants do not want to spend too much money to get them.

Talking to Fox Sports, Bayern Munich’s no.1 said: “If we want to win the Champions League we’ll have to invest but we can’t spend crazy money. We are not going to pay € 100 million to get Verratti or € 25 million-a-year to get Sanchez.”

Verratti is a top transfer target of Barcelona and even though the player has agreed personal terms with the La Liga giants, Psg are not open to sell him at any price. The blaugrana, however, are set to offer € 80 million to get the Italian.

As for Sanchez, the player is set to leave Arsenal as his contract expires in 2018 and if Bayern Munich will really retire from the race to sign him, the Citizens will remain the only club currently interested in the Chilean star.
