England star to snub move to Liverpool and remain a Gunner

England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly set to extend his stay in North London. The Mirror claims that Arsenal are ready to offer the 23-year-old a contract extension to end any speculation that he may be leaving the club this summer.

The player has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool but latest reports state that his current employers are ready to offer him a new deal at The Emirates worth £100,000-a-week to show they have complete trust in his ability to be part of the new-look Arsenal that boss Arsene Wenger has been charged with constructing.

Injuries played a major part in his omission from the starting XI last season but in the final few months, he stayed fit and won his place back in the England side under new coach Gareth Southgate. Wenger also picked him as an FA Cup Final starter which proved the Frenchman had complete confidence in his abilities.

Oxlade-Chamberlain arrived in the capital in 2011 after being nurtured in the youth ranks at Southampton.
