Exclusive: Conte takes decision on Chelsea defender amid Inter links

Inter are long time admirers of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen who made return to South West London after a two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach. Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has exclusively learned that the nerazzurri tried to sign the 21-year-old this past June, making two separate offers for the Denmark International. The Premier League champions however, turned Inter bids down as Antonio Conte pushed for the club not to sell the rock-solid centre-back.

Conte is an admirer of the 21-year-old, so much so Christensen has already 11 appearances in all competitions under the Italian tactician so far this season. The former Juventus boss does not want to sell the versatile defender at any price and Chelsea are set to reject every offer they receive in the winter transfer window.

Inter director of football Piero Ausilio has recently scouted Christensen several times and the nerazzurri are set to make a loan move with option to buy to sign the Danish ace.
Chelsea, however, do not want to sell the player at any price. Conte trust Christensen and is determined to keep him at the Stamford Bridge. Inter will have to look somewhere else if they are to sign a defence reinforcement.
