Exclusive: Fiorentina stonewall sale of Chelsea targets Badelj, Bernardeschi
The Pensioners’ Coach, Antonio Conte, is known to be very enthusiastic about Bernardeschi, the 21-year-old Italian sensation who broke onto the scene last season for Fiorentina.
The winger has had an exceptional last few weeks, netting twice and providing three assists in Serie A action. He’s been impressive enough to attract the interest of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Owner Andrea Della Valle was clear, however, saying that “We’ll do everything to not sell our jewels”. This, we understand, will come at the cost of not being able to buy anyone in the coming window, a point of contention with Coach Paulo Sousa.
Badelj, for his part, has been scouted by Milan and Inter, but both Milanese sides may be running short on cash.
The other big players, Nikola Kalinic, has long been targeted by Napoli.
