Exclusive: How Roma plan to replace Daniele de Rossi

Calciomercato understand that Roma are already drawing up plans to replace Daniele de Rossi, with a host of players on the list for the giallorossi to consider signing this January or next summer.

One of those players is Genk midfielder Sander Berge. Monchi held talks for him in the Netherlands and Berge is the first choice to replace De Rossi. Genk though, replied with a firm 'no', with Roma looking to sign him on an initial loan deal.

Another option is Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Diadie Samassekou, who is valued at 20 million euros by his club. Sampdoria are also interested in the Malian.

Julian Weigl is also an option, with the German struggling for games under Lucien Favre at Borussia Dortmund. BILD in Germany have stated that BVB could be open to letting him go, with Roma prepared to sign him on an initial loan deal before signing him on a permanent basis next summer.
