Exclusive: Liverpool and Spurs target signs for Juventus

It is nearly official, with only standard announcements set to be made tomorrow. Juventus have purchased Patrik Schick from Sampdoria, and having agreed to his 25 million EUR buyout clause the Czech attacker will become a Bianconeri player very soon. This comes as a blow to Premier League clubs Liverpool and Spurs, who had been scouting the 21 year old throughout the season. For the Turin club, it will remain to be seen how they will manage the young forward. Some thought that he may be immediately loaned back to a Serie A side, perhaps Sampdoria. Others are of the opinion that Juve will want to see him within the group in pre season training before they make an official decision.

The biggest concern for the young Czech is that he suffers as a substitute that rarely makes appearances. He would surely be behind Higuain and Dybala in Allegri’s picking order, and does not offer the same characteristics as Mandzukic, all three of which are mainstays in the Juventus line up. For Schick, his transfer comes as an excellent potential jump in his career, and he has benefitted from the unfortunate injury to Pjaca. One thing that the Czech can learn from the Croatian is that hard work and a keenness to improve will earn match time. Whether he can squeeze into the black and white jersey right away, that will have to wait a few months. For now, Juve fans can celebrate another transfer for a high quality young player.
