Exclusive: Roma negotiating new deal with iconic star

Roma are planning to renew Alessandro Florenzi’s contract, we can reveal.

Fabrizio Romano confirms for Calciomercato that the right-back, who has recovered from an ACL tear and started seven Serie A games this season, scoring one goal and adding an assist.

The 26-year-old’s deal expires in the summer of 2019, and this is prompting the Giallorossi to move now rather than wait for next summer and risk losing their man for less.

President Pallotta agrees with sporting director Monchi and Coach Di Francesco, the latter of whom is a big enthusiast.

The plan is to keep the converted midfielder until 2022, though the length of the deal is actually not determined. There is no clear idea on the salary to be offered to Florenzi, either.

The last time Florenzi was offered a new deal was in 2015, when in reality he simply had his deal lengthened and improved. The two sides are in no rush, but want to continue together.
