EXCLUSIVE Romano: Juve plan to bring Rosario prodigy Lo Celso to Serie A via Sassuolo

Who is Giovani Lo Celso, and why are Juventus so taken with him? El Mono (the monkey) is a talented 19-year-old midfielder who can also play as a trequartista, who moved along the whole front of attack and shows some touches of true class. A hero with Rosario Central, (picture via GenerazioneDiTalenti), he's already made two assists this season, making 13 appearances for El Gigante.

Let's take a look at the player's highlights so far.

Juventus have been following Lo Celso for a long while now, and plan to work on bringing him in with Sassuolo. The idea would be for the Emilian side to buy him, but allow Juventus preference were they to sell him. The two clubs are on great terms, with calciomercato.com reporting that they should agree to Domenico Berardi's move to Turin this summer

Other teams are rivalling Juventus in the hunt for Lo Celso, including Manchester City, who sounded him out through an investment fund a few weeks ago. Their lowball offer, however, was rejected.

Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone, known for fishing around in Argentina, has also been on the phone with Rosario, and is also waiting on River Plate's Kranevitter. El Cholo is a big fan of Lo Celso's, as are Atleti's scouts in South America.

But the price is high, and there have no breakthroughs as of yet. Juventus are preparing this offer with Sassuolo, which should lead to some interesting developments.
