Three goals and five assist in 900 minutes played proves that Ivan Perisic is increasingly crucial for Inter Milan. But in the summer, Manchester United attempted to take advantage of the Nerazzuri’s financial situation.

 

Inter was forced by financial fair play to sell €30 million worth of players by June 30, 2017, to meet the obligations imposed by UEFA. 

 

It was a condition that the English club wanted to exploit for the underperforming (at the time) Perisic. The Red Devils, in fact, attentive to the budget requirements of the Nerazzurri, made an offer of €35 million. Inter found the proposal to be unacceptable, so the sporting director preferred to enter a race against time in search of capital gains.

 

Fortunately for Inter, they won the race by earning €44 million on the transfer market by the end of this past June.
