Fassone unveils AC Milan summer transfer strategy

AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone has released an interview with Radio Anch’Io lo Sport to talk about the club’s transfer strategies.

“Juventus are the best team of the league, by far although Napoli and AS Roma have also had an amazing season. Our club work well and it’s pointless to make predictions about the next season. We want to make return to Champions League next season.”

“There are two ways to reach the Champions League. Playing on Thursdays [due to Europa League] is never easy but we will do a mental and physical effort to do well.”

“Montella and Mirabelli will talk about the players AC Milan need to buy. We must combine experienced and young players. There must be a different mentality as well, AC Milan must become used to win again.”

“We hope we’ll keep Donnarumma. We’ll do everything we can but it’s not up to us only. We’ll make an effort and we are available to do everything that it takes to keep him at the club, but his word is also important. We don’t want to sell him but we can’t afford to keep him with an expiring contract.”

“Morata? I’ve heard many rumours of late but we are close to signing nobody, we’ve met some top European clubs but I don’t want to name any of them. We have to be quick because we want to complete three quarters of the squad by the beginning of July.”

“We’ll buy at least one new player in each role, in defence we’ll have one or two new players. Continuity is vital, that’s why we want to carry on working with Montella. We’re on the right path and he’s exactly what we are looking at.”
