Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi slammed former defender Leonardo Bonucci during an interview with Sportitalia. The current AC Milan captain made a shock exit from Torino after reports emerged that he clashed with manager Massimiliano Allegri.

“He is a victim of himself, he spoke much before he went to Milan,” said Moggi. “Bonucci played in a proven Juventus, who played together for some time and had a coach who can give motives.” He went on to speak about Bonucci’s poor play for club and country this season. “He has become the captain but his performance is neither a captain of Milan nor of the National team.”

At Juventus, Bonucci was part of a three-man backline with world class players Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli, with whom he’s played for the better part of a decade. Now, at Milan, he’s part of a four-man defense squad comprised of players he has little or no familiarity with.
