Former Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra could return from retirement to join Brentford, an English League Championship’s side.

The 35-year-old midfielder has been training with the rest of the group during the last couple of weeks and even played a friendly game some days ago.

Diarra ended his playing career in January 2015 and the last club he played for is Fulham. Diarra has 65 appearances and six goals with Mali national team as well as 90 appearances and three goals with Real Madrid.

Diarra was one of the cornerstones of the best Lyon side ever having collected five French titles and four French Supercups during his four year spell at the club. He has also won two La Liga titles, one Spanish Super Cup and one Copa del Rey with Real Madrid.
