• Genoa have lost the last four derbies they played as a host team, three of which by a 1-0 scoreline.
• Four of the last five derbies of Genova played in the first half of the season have been won by Sampdoria.
• This is Genoa’s worst start to a Serie A season since 1959/60, when they had managed just a win and two draws in the first 11 match-days, and went on to be relegated to Serie B.
• Meanwhile, this is Sampdoria’s joint-best start to a Serie A campaign, as they have 20 points after 11 match-days, like in 2009/10, when they finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League playoffs.
