Before the former Ajax midfielder reached an agreement with the Rossoblu, it was in fact the Florentine club that had attempted to bring him to Italy. However, the Danish midfielder chose Liguria over Tuscany, forcing Fiorentina to look elsewhere for a new midfielder. This information was revealed in the Secolo XIX by Stefano Salvini, the lawyer who acted as an intermediary in the negotiations for the transfer of Schone to Genoa.
