Napoli: Insigne pushing for start against Inter

Napoli superstar Lorenzo Insigne has made his intentions of playing in the big game against Inter Milan clear, despite not being fully fit currently, report Il Mattino (via fcinternews).

Insigne was taken off in the 56th minute of the partenopei’s Champions League game against Manchester City recently because of the thigh injury, but he feels he can feature against the nerazzurri in the all important clash at the Stadio San Paolo. According to Il Mattino the Italian star has told Napoli medical staff that they should do everything they can for him to be eligible to play against Inter.

Missing the Inter game would be big for someone as important a player as Insigne himself. And Maurizio Sarri’s men have tight schedule within ten days of the game against Inter, with clashes against Genoa, Sassuolo and the return leg in the Champions League against City also coming up. The Napoli boss is already looking for Insigne’s replacements in summer signing Adam Ounas and Piotr Zielinski.
