Inter, Ausilio defends De Boer, hits out at press

Inter director of sport Piero Ausilio also shared his thoughts on the situation of the team and the club during a shareholders meeting held on Friday afternoon.

Ausilio hit out at media who have been putting lot of pressure on Frank De Boer after some disappointing results in the first part of the season.

“Journalists are always writing that De Boer is alone, but there are representatives of the club at the training ground every day. This doesn’t happen with Milan and Juventus.”

“How many games have we wasted this season? Two! Results aren’t all that matters, the team is improving. We’ve never put the future of our manager into doubt, nor did we make contact with other coaches. I think the Southampton game was worse than the one against Cagliari. De Boer has innovative ideas; we both think that the Southampton clash was a negative one.”

Vice-President Javier Zanetti also talked about the situation of their manager: “We read newspapers, but we are not influenced by them. We have to get over tough times and have common ideas about the steps to take in the future. We have to improve in terms of consistency.”

Suning representative Yan Yang has highlighted the club’s plans for the future: “Suning want to build a great team, we kept the promises signing the likes of Joao Mario, Candreva and Gabigol. We are sustaining Inter are looking for new sponsors to generate more incomes. We’ve had highs and lows in the pitch, but we are working alongside Thohir and the manager to return at the highest levels. We’ll become stronger in the future. We’ve been here for four months and we want to thank fans for their support.”

“Thohir is one of our partners in Asia, we trust him and we want to export the Inter brand in new markets. Inter and Jiangsu can create synergies and cooperate in the transfer market. We’ll do everything Inter need to strengthen the team, keeping a close eye on the FFP.”

“Moratti is a very important personality for us Steven Zhang meets him very frequently, but we have other Italian executives working at the club and we trust them all. De Boer is facing a challenge and we are here to sustain him.”
