Liverpool and Chelsea given new hope as Kondogbia rejects Marseille siwtch

Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has rejected a move to Marseille, according to reports from France. Reliable news outlet L’Equipe claims that the former AS Monaco star considers a return to France a step back in his career and has informed Marseille not to be interested in moving back to the Ligue1.

New Marseille owner Frank McCourt was rumoured to have met the French midfielder a few weeks ago, but Kondogbia has taken a final decision over his future deciding not to leave Inter in January.

The French midfielder has failed to justify his price-tag since joining the Serie A side for € 30 million in summer 2015. The former AS Monaco, Sevilla and Lens has only collected 36 appearances with Inter scoring one goal.

Kondogbia, however, is said to be willing to stay at Inter until the end of the season trying to convince the manager and the club to give him some regular game time. In case he fails to impress during the last six months of the campaign, the player would prioritize a summer move to the Premier League.

Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in signing the player in January, but if rumours coming from France are to be believed both Premier League clubs are now forced to wait until the end of the season before placing an official offer for 'Kondo'.
