Is Juve preparing a fresh pursuit of Strootman?

  • Matthew Klimberg
Juventus continues to dream of brining Kevin Strootman to Torino. This past summer, Moratta made a concerted effort to sign the Dutchman, but Roma relented, eventually re-signing him to a five-year deal. However, it appears the Bianconeri are preparing a fresh bid to reunite him with Miralem Pjanic.

Unlike this past summer, Juventus has another aspect in going in their favor at the moment. The emergence of Lorenzo Pellegrini in Rome has made Strootman expendable in the eyes of some. Should Juve fancy him again, they will need to increase their offer of €30 million which was made last summer. Additionally, they’ll need to convince him to move westward.

After missing nearly two years with knee injuries, Strootman has regained his form with the Giallorossi. Though he has been unable to prevent the Dutch national team’s slide in qualifications this year, he has helped Roma to a solid start to their 2017-18 campaign.
