Juve, Marchisio might need another surgery

Juventus star Claudio Marchisio did not join his teammates yesterday to celebrate the 5tt successive scudetto after the Sampdoria clash.

The Italy International picked up a serious knee injury last April and underwent a surgery on the 19th of the same month. According to Il Corriere della Sera, the surgery has not produced the desired and predicted results and after a period of physical therapy, Marchisio will be forced to undergo a new surgery which could postpone his comeback date by at least one month.

Marchisio was supposed to return to the pitch in October, but could remain out of action until November at least, should he undergo a new operation.

Juventus have set sights on a number of central midfielder who could both replace Marchisio as well as strengthen the team once the 30-year-old will be back. Miralem Pjanic tops Giuseppe Marotta wish-list, followed by Valencia’s André Gomes, Joshua Guilavogui, Javier Pastore and James Rodriguez.

Rumours linking Mesut Ozil and Javier Mascherano with a move to the J Stadium have not been confirmed by our sources.
