Juventus, Liverpool left disappointed as German target wants Barcelona

According to SportBild , Leon Goretzka has met with members of Barcelona to address his future transfer there.

Not long ago it was assumed that the Schalke 04 striker would play next year in the Premier League but this news could, very well, change things. The German international, and Confederations Cup winner, would like to join the Catalan club in January because that would activate a clause by which the young player would take 20% of the transfer fee.

Even Blaugrana legend Xavi Hernandez is advocating for the move. “He is a young player. Germany has always good footballers, and Goretzka is one of them,” said the current Qatari player.

Goretzka has been linked to Liverpool and Juventus recently, as he will be a free transfer this summer. However, should either of those two want his services, it appears that they’ll have to swoop in for him in January. Otherwise, the star looks to be headed to Barcelona.
