Juventus turned down by Barca defender

Juventus are in the market for Aleix Vidal, according to the latest reports from Catalonia.

The Barcelona full-back hasn’t had an easy time in his two seasons at the Camp Nou, going from being a permanent substitute to ending up on the operating table, limiting the Spaniard to just eleven La Liga starts.

Also chased by Inter and rivals AC Milan, Vidal has found himself surplus to requirements after Barcelona signed Nelson Semedo from Benfica.

Rather than being Dani Alves’ replacement, the 27-year-old found himself slipping behind Sergi Roberto in the hierarchies.

Juventus are, according to Sport, set to offer Vidal a starting job, having lost (surprise, surprise) Dani Alves themselves to PSG.

Trouble is, Juventus asked Vidal a couple of weeks ago whether he’d be interested, and he answered negatively.

There’s another catch: despite Semedo’s arrival, Vidal thinks that new Coach Ernesto Valverde’s taking over is a sign that he has a chance to prove himself once again.
