Liverpool boost as Serie A star ‘can’t promise’ to extend expiring contract

Liverpool, Juventus and AC Milan are long time admirers of Lazio star Stefan De Vrij who will see his contract expire at the end of the season.

The Dutchman talked to media after Lazio’s 3-0 over Cagliari yesterday night and confirmed there is still no agreement regarding his potential contract extension.

“I will meet with club’s executives, I want to sign a new deal but I can make no promises”, De Vrij told media at the end of the game.

Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano claims Juventus would be open to sign De Vrij as a free agent at the end of the season although the Old Lady has not made the former Psv promise her summer priority.

AC Milan have never been really interested in De Vrij and are not planning to make an offer in January. As of today Lotito wants € 30/35 million to sell the player and if De Vrij won’t sign a contract extension the January window will be Lazio’s last chance to sell the Dutchman. Liverpool have been warned.
