Man United defender wants to stay at Old Trafford amid Juventus rumours

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has squashed rumours that he is poised with a move away by stating that he wants to stay and fight for his place at the club.
The Italian full-back has been linked with a move back to the Serie A, with the league’s reigning champions Juventus reportedly keen on the full-back.

But, via local Manchester news outlet Manchester Evening News, the 27-year-old insists that he is very happy where he is, under boss Jose Mourinho at the Theatre of Dreams.

The right-back said, “Every time I read something about my future, but (there is) nothing news (wise). I am happy here.

"I think also it is a part of our work, these kind of rumours.

"I am a Manchester United player - that's it."

"I always say the position doesn't matter to me," he said.

"If I have to play left or right, I work hard to be ready when the manager gives me an opportunity and that's it.

"I try to do my best every time, every game. I try to work hard during the week and that's my philosophy."
