Man United to land £35m Barca, Real Madrid target

Manchester United are close to landing Victor Lindelof, at long last, news from Portugal reveals.

Portuguese newspaper Record (via the Mail) claims that the former Inter and Napoli target is set to move to Old trafford for £35 million.

Also liked by Real Madrid, Barcelona and Newcastle, Lindelof was scouted out by another suitor, Roma, in the last few days.

Roma were set to challenge the Old Trafford side, with reports in Italy suggesting that the Giallorossi want the 22-year-old to replace Kostas Manolas, who is likely to leave.

Lindelof was close to a move to Manchester last summer, when sums far higher (above the £50m mark) were being quoted by media outlets all across Europe.

£5m of the rumoured £35m transfer fee will apparently be in bonuses, and are set to be performance and appearance-based.

Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira travelled to England recently to negotiate terms for a double deal, with Nelson Semedo - another long-term Manchester United target - also on the cards. Vieira apparently hopes to net a total of £83m for both.
