Manchester United, City nervous about Lazio price tag

Lazio’s breakout star, Sergej Milinković-Savić has begun to garner international acclaim through his exceptional play in the midfield. Now there are rumors of large clubs looking to tear him away from Stadio Olimpico.

Most recently, the Serbian international has garnered acute interest from both Manchester City and Manchester United. The 22-year-old could bring long-term stability to those squads. As a result of the increased interest from abroad, Lazio president Lolito sees an opportunity to fill his coffers if they decide to sell Sergej.

Reports suggest Lolito will not even entertain an offer below €100 million. Such a high price tag will certainly give the two clubs from Manchester pause before penciling him into their long-term plans.

In nine matches this season, the midfielder has netted a lone goal, but continues to play a key role in helping Lazio suffocate opponents’ midfielders. His most important contribution this season was helping his club lift the Supercoppa Italiana in a shock victory over Juventus.
