Manchester United confident of securing 40 million deal for Perisic as he tells his new boss that he's going to Old Trafford

The future of Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic looks to be with Manchester United. Reports in recent weeks have suggested that the 28-year-old is closing in on a deal to join the Premier League giants and reports from Italy today suggest that the Red Devils are ready to close out the deal.

With personal terms already understood to have been agreed, Corriere dello Sport writes that the player has told incoming Inter boss Luciano Spalletti that he has no intention of staying with the Nerazzurri and that he wants to move to Old Trafford.

United have already tabled a €40M bid with the Italian’s holding out for €50M. Jose Mourinho however, has an ace card up his sleeve and that is the fact that he is aware that his former club need to balance their books before June 30 to comply with FFP (Financial Fair-Play) restrictions placed on them by FIFA.

The fact that they need to make a sale of at least €30M to do this ensures that the Premier League giants are not prepared to raise their offer and will expect Inter to accept their original bid for the Croatian international.
