Manchester United want German midfield ace in exchange for David De Gea

The seemingly endless feud between Manchester United and Real Madrid over the future of Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea looks to have taken another twist. The Mirror reports that the Red Devils have told their Spanish counterparts that they want German midfield star Toni Kroos to be part of any deal that takes De Gea back to his home city.

United boss Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of the 27-year-old and believes he would be the perfect fit in his new-look squad alongside Paul Pogba. The journal also writes that the Premier League side have told Real that they want £60M for their 26-year-old custodian, unless Kroos is included in any agreement.

De Gea himself has never expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford this summer and the two clubs are due to meet on August 8 in the European Super-Cup which could be played out to a backdrop of the animosity that looks to have developed between these two historic clubs.
