Mazzola: ‘Why Inter couldn’t get Cantona’

Sandro Mazzola would know, being a member of Inter’s front office at the time.
“I went to see Cantona and began negotiations, but there were major problems in separating him from Manchester United," Mazzola told fcinternews.
"They were asking for too much, and it would have taken a lot of effort to reel him in. We couldn’t afford to spend that much at the time”.
Really? Is this the same Inter who brought in Ronaldo, Christian Vieri, Alvaro Recoba and so on? I guess we’ll have to take his word for it.
