Napoli superstar Dries Mertens has told that he feels at home at the Naples based club, dealing blow to Manchester United and Barcelona’s hopes of signing the Belgian forward.

Currently 30, Mertens has been in impressive goalscoring form since last season for the partenopei, having found the back of the net as many as 28 times last season. He has already scored ten times this campaign.

In a recent interview with Corriere dello Sport, Mertens was asked about life at Napoli. He said: "I had played here with Utrecht, and I liked the city and its spirit. When the club bought me I came with my whole family and I set myself up easily. Football and its protagonists were quite the same to I was used to in Belgium. There is warmth and solidarity that will help you live in a city that is not yours. Naples clings around the players of its team, makes them always feel like Neapolitans.”

Mertens also praised Sarri. He said: " What does he teach me about football?. He is a coach I like. He is prepared and scientific in the care of games. I like how he prepares us for each meeting. It seems like you've already played the game and in the field it looks like your team has a man more. Scudetto? Let's hope. We know we do not have thirty men who can play but we want to do well and we are a step ahead of the other teams. "
