Milan mayor speaks about new stadiums for AC Milan, Inter

Could both Milan teams move out of the San Siro? AC Milan is reportedly eyeing a project to build a new multi-use stadium to replace the century old Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to house the legendary club.

Beppe Sala, the mayor Milan and driving force behind bringing the 2015 world Expo to the city admitted interest in building a new state-of-the-art stadium for the two teams. “With Milan we started the phase of outlining the potential of other spaces to build a new stadium. This check must be done in short time, then we will decide with the two teams how to proceed.”

As far as Inter was concerned, he was asked about the possibility of the Nerazzurri remaining at the San Siro should AC Milan leave. “It's not easy,” he told a gaggle of reporters. He made clear that they are focused on working with AC Milan before figuring out what to do about Inter Milan. “We are focused on putting Milan in a place to understand how to build them a new stadium. Otherwise it will have to work at the San Siro.
