Mourinho tells England international he could be at Man Utd for the next ten years

In a surprise U-turn, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has told full-back Luke Shaw that he could be one of the club’s first-choice defenders for the next ten years. Having been heavily linked with a move out of Old Trafford after a disappointing campaign last season, The Sun reports that the 21-year-old has been given a huge boost by his manager who previously accused him of not having the desire to play for the Red Devils.

The journal states that the two men have sat down and spoken about the future with Mourinho reportedly telling Shaw he has the ability to be a club great. Many cynics believe that this is just a move by the Portuguese tactician to disguise the fact that he is failing to bring in players in Shaw’s preferred position of left-back.

It has been reported that United’s main target is Spurs ace Danny Rose but relationships between the two clubs are still tense after previous negotiations for Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov left a bitter taste in the mouth.
