Official: Chelsea star Morata to skip Champions League clashes against Roma

Chelsea star Alvaro Morata has been ruled out for 3-4 weeks with a muscle injury. The Spanish FA has just released a medical bulletin that states that Morata has picked up a grade two hamstring injury that will force him out of the pitch for almost one month.

The Spaniard will not only skip the next two games of his national team but will also be not eligible to play against Roma in the Champions League games scheduled after the International break. Roma sit second in their group with four points in two games. Chelsea have made six points in the first two games thanks to wins against Qarabag and Atletico Madrid.

Antonio Conte is likely to replace Morata with Michy Batshuayi who is the no. 1 replacement for the former Juventus and Real Madrid star given that Diego Costa will join Atletico Madrid in winter and is not training alongside the rest of his team.
